Materials:
Solid dark green or Variegated yarn. Small amounts of Black, Gold and Medium Green.
H Hook and yarn needle.
Starting with dark green or variegated yarn, ch 5 join with sl st to form ring.
Rnd 1: Ch 3, Ch 3 counts as 1 dc though out. Make 13 dc in the ring. Join with sl st in top of ch 3.
Rnd 2: Ch 3, dc in the same space as the ch 3, 2 dc in every dc, join with sl st in top of ch 3. (28 dc)
Rnd 3: Ch 3, dc in the same space as the ch 3, *one dc in the next dc, 2 dc in the next dc* repeat from * repeat around. Join with sl st in top of ch 3. (42 dc)
Rnd 4: Ch 1, sc in the same space, * sc in the next to dc, 2 sc in the next dc* repeat around join in the top of the ch 1 (56 sc).
Rnd 5: Working in the back loops for this row only. Ch 3, make 1 dc in every sc around join in the top of the ch 3.
Rnds 6 - 10: Repeat Rnd 5 finish off wear ends.
Rnd 11: Attach Black and repeat Rnd 5. Fasten off weave ends.
Rnd 12: Attach Dark Green or Variegated yarn, ch 1, sc in each st around, join to first sc.
Hat brim:
Rnd 13: Working in the front loops for this rnd only. Ch 3, dc in the same space as ch 3, 2 dc in each st around. Join in top of ch 3.
Rnd 14: Ch 3, 1 dc in each dc around, fasten off and weave ends.
Buckle:
With gold yarn ch 15 join to make a ring. Ch 1, 3 sc in same space, (sc in the next 3 ch spaces, 3 sc in the next ch space) 2 times, sc in the next two ch spaces join fasten off and weave ends. With yarn needle sew buckle to the row of black on the hat.
Optional Shamrock:
Make Shamrock from any Shamrock pattern you have and attach it to the top of the hat.
